Luis Daniel Figueroa, 39-Year-Old, Porterville Resident
On August 21, 2024, at 1:33 P.M., detectives from the Porterville Police Department responded to a residence in the 1200 block of North Lowery Street, following a comprehensive auto theft investigation that identified Luis Figueroa as the primary suspect. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Figueroa and a search warrant for his residence, both authorized by a Superior Court Judge. Figueroa was arrested at the scene without incident. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a large number of shaved keys.
During a search of the residence, detectives discovered a previously reported stolen motorcycle in the garage. The stolen motorcycle was found disassembled, suggesting it had been stripped for parts. In addition, detectives uncovered numerous pieces of stolen mail belonging to individuals who did not reside at the residence, along with several fraudulent checks made out to Figueroa.
Luis Figueroa was arrested for operating a chop shop, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen mail, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also arrested on the outstanding warrant.
Figueroa was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility where he is being held without bail.
