Traffic Stops Yield Arrests, Firearms and Controlled Substances

LIVERMORE — Recent unrelated traffic stops for minor violations yielded three arrests for more serious offenses. A wanted man and a woman were arrested and illicit drugs were confiscated in one incident. The second incident resulted in the arrest of fugitive in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Livermore police conducted a traffic stop on vehicle with a suspended registration during the night of August 13. The unlicensed driver Anthony TJ Gray, 27, a dishwasher from Tracy, was wanted for an outstanding felony warrant.

The vehicle was searched and police found 5 ounces of methamphetamine, 14 grams of heroin and 89 Xanax pills. Gray was arrested at 11:20 p.m. and taken to Alameda County Santa Rita Jail. Gray was booked on several drug-related charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Bond for release for custody was set at $100,000. Gray has nine prior arrests involving controlled substances, firearms, and other offenses.

A passenger accompanying Gray, Livermore resident 36-year-old Blanca E. Resendiz was also arrested. Resendiz is no longer is custody. She faces misdemeanor charges for possession of a controlled substance, and possession of an injection device.

Mohammad Atari, 26, an unlicensed driver Livermore, was arrested following the second traffic stop. Atari was taken into custody on August 17 at 6:39 p.m. Police found a loaded handgun and additional ammunition inside his vehicle. Atari had an outstanding warrant involving assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and stalking. He remains in custody at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
