Two Arrested After Cops Find Suspicious Vehicle

“SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS:

Last night, 8/20/24, Sutter County Deputies responded to a call for service regarding a suspicious vehicle in the area of Normandy Court in Yuba City. Once on scene, deputies noticed an unoccupied vehicle with possible narcotics in plain view. While conducting an area check, deputies observed two subjects enter said vehicle and leave the scene. A traffic stop was initiated, and 34-year-old Daniel Wurm and 45-year-old Sarah Carberry were contacted inside the vehicle.

Deputies made contact with the occupants and after investigation, a probable cause search was conducted. While conducting a thorough vehicle search, deputies found a methamphetamine pipe, a backpack containing a fuel syphoning hose, bolt cutters, a loaded .38 special Ruger revolver, at least 1,000 rounds of ammunition, as well as checks, ID’s and mail not belonging to them.

After investigating further, it was determined that Wurm and Carberry had entered the storage facility on Hunn Road in attempt to steal fuel. Both Wurm and Carberry were arrested for numerous violations including conspiracy, possession of stolen property, fraud, and charges related to possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Great job deputies. ”
