Stockton Police Announce Organized Retail Crime Arrests

Stockton police recently arrested two individuals for alleged organized retail theft during a probation search earlier this month.

The San Joaquin County Auto Theft Task Force conducted a probation search on Aug. 19 on the 1000 block of Bear Creek Way, leading to the discovery of a large amount of suspected stolen retail merchandise, Stockton police revealed in a press release.

The Task Force, which includes the CHP, Stockton PD, Manteca PD, San Joaquin DA’s Office, San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office, San Joaquin County Probation, Manteca PD, and Tracy PD, obtained a search warrant and reportedly recovered an estimated $80,000 in stolen merchandise.

Additionally, authorities seized a firearm, suspected narcotics, ammunition, and approximately $30,000 in cash, police said.

Lan Nguyen, 51, was arrested and booked on felony organized retail crime charges, while Thai Nguyen, 56, was also arrested on related charges and firearm-related offenses.
