Man Reportedly Arrested in Connection with Orange County Bank Robberies
Orange County authorities have reportedly arrested a man in connection with multiple bank robberies throughout the county.
In a press release, the Sheriff’s Department reported that Che Lewis, 30, was arrested Friday, Aug. 23, after being identified as the primary suspect in the robberies.
The arrest occurred as Lewis was allegedly preparing to rob a U.S. Bank in Anaheim, authorities said.
The investigation into Lewis began on July 8 following two bank robberies in Mission Viejo and Ladera Ranch. A third robbery was reported in Ladera Ranch on August 8.
Authorities linked Lewis to these incidents, as well as to an attempted bank robbery in Ladera Ranch on August 7, based on evidence left at the scenes.
Lewis has reportedly been booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of attempted robbery, with further charges pending.
Investigators are reportedly exploring the possibility of Lewis’s involvement in additional bank robberies within Orange County and other regions.
