Palm Springs Man Arrested for Multiple Sexual Assault Charges Following Investigation
On Monday, August 19th, 2024, a sexual assault incident was reported in Palm Springs involving a suspect initially identified as “JC.” The victim stated they met the suspect at a local bar and later continued socializing with him at a hotel, where the situation escalated into a non-consensual encounter. The victim subsequently left Palm Springs and reported the incident to authorities in the Inland Empire.
During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 27-year-old Juan Segura of Palm Springs. On Wednesday, August 21st, Segura was located in the 400 block of E Arenas Road and taken into custody without incident. He was initially held on $180,000 bail at the John Benoit Detention Center.
Further investigation revealed additional cases linked to Segura, including a March 2024 incident where a victim reported being drugged and assaulted, and another case from August 2024 involving a similar encounter. Detectives gathered sufficient evidence to charge Segura with multiple counts of rape and sodomy, and he is now being held without bail.
