Three Suspects Arrested for Theft, Drug, and Warrant Offenses at Marina Best Buy

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, the Marina Police Department responded to theft in progress at the Marina Best Buy located at 101 General Stillwell Drive. Following the initial report, responding personnel were told the suspects fled the store in an older Mercedes and witnesses provided the license plate, suspect descriptions and their direction of travel.

A short distance away, an alert CSUMB PD Officer Miller spotted the Mercedes and initiated a traffic stop. Marina Police Officers arrived on scene and contacted all three suspects that were positively identified by a witness as the suspects involved in the theft.
Officers arrested the following suspects.

Jose Luis Ramirez, (40) from Salinas for shoplifting, Conspiracy, and possession of burglary tools. Gemma Ramirez (37) from Salinas for shoplifting, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of burglary tools.

Hector Duarte Jr. (25) from King City for shoplifting and a felony no bail warrant for violation of Post Release Community Supervision.

All three were transported to Monterey County Jail.
