Ventura County, CA — Two Thousand Oaks residents were arrested on suspicion of the sale and distribution of controlled substances. Local area residents reported there appeared to be indications of suspected drug activity at a neighborhood home.
This prompted an investigation by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s Thousand Oaks Division Directed Enforcement Unit, which consists of eight detectives focused on investigating illegal activities throughout the East County area.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department
spokesman Sgt. Jonathan James, their hard work led to the August 28 arrests of
Thousand Oaks residents 40-year-old Alexis Beeker and 29-year-old Jeremy
Ochsenreither. Both men were “suspected of being involved in the sale and distribution
of controlled substances.” That suspicions led to the execution of a search warrant at
their residence, resulting in the seizure of “approximately one ounce of Fentanyl and
other narcotics,” officials said.
During the search of the home, detectives reportedly made contact with 55-year-old David
Lapides, who was “found in possession of controlled substances” and was taken
into custody at the scene.
All three suspects were transported to Ventura County Jail, where Beeker and
Ochsenreither were charged with possession of controlled substances for sale,
transportation for sale of controlled substances, and conspiracy. For his part, Lapides
was charged with possession of controlled substances and has since been released from custody. Beeker is no longer in custody and does not appear on the inmate list of the Ventura County Sherriff’s Department.
