Two individuals were arrested in Siskiyou County for the alleged possession of fentanyl for sales.
According to a press release by the county Sheriff’s Office, a sergeant conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 5 at around 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.
The vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer, was reportedly stopped for missing both license plates.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the driver, identified as Jade Krystal Hobbs, 31. At one point, Hobbs allegedly admitted to using methamphetamines. The passenger was identified as Alli Dawn Brandon, 31.
Brandon told the sergeant they were returning from a trip to Oakland but reportedly did not provide a reason for their travel.
During the stop, Brandon informed the sergeant that a handgun was under the front driver’s seat. The firearm was discovered to be unregistered, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered drug paraphernalia, as well as 153.6 grams of fentanyl and 20 grams of methamphetamine.
Hobbs was arrested on suspicion of driving while addicted to drugs and the transportation and possession of illegal drugs for sale.
Brandon was arrested on suspicion of the possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and transportation and possession of illegal drugs for sale.
Both were booked into the Siskiyou County jail.
