Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with Harbor Assaults in Oceanside, Three Still at Large

“On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 8:50 pm, the Oceanside Police Department received reports of an altercation involving several suspects in the area of 1400 N. Harbor Drive. According to witness accounts, two individuals, identified by bandanas covering their faces, were seen assaulting several men with baseball bats. Before officers arrived, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Multiple victims were identified and treated for various degrees of injuries at area hospitals.

Oceanside Police gang detectives conducted follow-up on the case. During the investigation, five individuals were identified as the suspects responsible for the crimes committed during this incident. This is believed to be a gang-motivated crime.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, detectives located two of the identified suspects in Vista, CA. Jorge L. Perez of Vista and Pablo F. Gonzalez of Oceanside were taken into custody without incident. Both were booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

The Oceanside Police Department is actively working to locate the three remaining suspects. Oceanside Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please contact the Gang Crimes Unit at (760) 435-4264, or dial 9-1-1 for emergency response.”
