BRENTWOOD — Two armed robbery suspects were arrested following an investigation involving
multiple law enforcement agencies. The victims were robbed after withdrawing money from ATM
machines.
One of the robberies occurred around noontime on April 9. A victim was robbed at Bank of America,
6261 Lone Tree Way in Brentwood. BPD officers and detectives investigated what turned out to be two
ATM robberies.
Brentwood police said in a prepared statement. “Further investigation revealed the same vehicle and
suspects were involved in another ATM robbery in Antioch.”
Nearby agencies were notified to be on the lookout for the suspects. Pittsburg police located the
vehicle and arrested 21-year-old Jaylen McDaniel of Antioch. McDaniel was booked on April 10.
McDaniel is charged with felony first-degree armed robbery PC 211. He faces an additional charge
enhancement for being armed with a firearm PC 12022(A). However, McDaniel posted bond and he is
no longer in custody.
The second suspect is a Vallejo resident, 21-year-old Maurice D. Strong Jr. The Solano County Sheriff’s
Office apprehended Strong. He was fleeing in a stolen vehicle when he was detained last month.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office subsequently arrested Strong on September 9 for an
outstanding warrant. He remains in custody in lieu of $470,000 bond at the West County Detention
Facility in Richmond. His charges are pending.
