Warrant search leads to discovery of illegal firearm

Roseville CA — A traffic violation stop by Roseville police led to the arrest of four individuals on suspicion of possession of a loaded handgun along with other charges.

Shortly before 1 a.m.. on Thursday, Sept. 5, Roseville Police stopped a vehicle on Fiddyment Road for a traffic violation. The vehicle contained four occupants. Officers conducted a probation search in order to ensure two of the subjects were complying with the terms of their probation.

Officers discovered they were in fact not in compliance. Jayln Westervelt, Richard Lee McCormack , Laura Buntich and Casandra Johnson  were arrested on multiple felony counts.

During the search, officers located a loaded unserialized handgun, an improvised incendiary device, methamphetamine for sale and drug paraphernalia.

All four were arrested for a total of seven felony charges, including Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, and Possession of a Destructive Device. They were promptly booked into the South Placer County Jail.
