The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a primary suspect in connection with a triple homicide in July.
According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on the evening of June 8 to the 1500 block of E. Mettler Road in Lodi for a welfare check. Family members had expressed concern after being unable to reach the residents for over a week.
Upon arrival, deputies reportedly discovered three adults deceased from fatal gunshot wounds.
Investigators soon determined that the crime had been a targeted incident. Evidence led authorities to identify a suspect, but the decision was made not to disclose the investigation publicly to maintain its integrity.
After several months of investigation, on Sept. 14, detectives arrested 25-year-old Steven Guerrero Jr.
Guerrero faces three charges of murder, along with charges of burglary and firearm enhancement, the Sheriff’s Office said.
