On the evening of September 11, 2024, Riverside Police responded to a shooting at a business on Jurupa Avenue in the Airport neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Adrienne Johnson of Riverside deceased in her vehicle from multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation, led by the Robbery-Homicide Unit and Forensics Unit, with support from the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, quickly focused on the victim’s brother, 51-year-old David Johnson, also from Riverside.
Witness accounts and investigative leads indicated that David Johnson approached his sister as she was getting into her car after work, shot her multiple times, and then fled the scene. Two days later, on the morning of September 13, Riverside detectives, with assistance from the METRO Team, located and arrested David Johnson. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on a charge of murder and is being held without bail.
This case remains under active investigation. The Riverside Police Department has encouraged anyone with information to come forward and contact Detective Stanley Hua or Detective Nic Cantino.
