Authorities in San Mateo County have reportedly arrested an employee of a middle school for alleged lewd acts with a minor.

In a press release, the the East Palo Alto Police Department announced that they had arrested James Edward Fitch, 54.

Fitch was employed as the campus relations coordinator at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School, police said.

Police began investigating on Sept. 6 after receiving allegations that Fitch had engaged in lewd acts with a minor at his place of employment.

Investigators ultimately uncovered probable cause to arrest Fitch on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor and enticing a minor for lewd acts.

On Sept. 16, East Palo Alto PD investigators and officials from the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Team carried out a search and arrest warrant at Fitch’s home.
