Kern County Authorities Reportedly Seize 25 Pounds of Methamphetamine

A Kern County man is in custody on narcotics charges following the alleged discovery of large quantities of methamphetamine in his possession.

According to a press release by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 99 near Rosedale Highway on Sept. 14 and discovered around 338 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Authorities later carried out a search warrant at a property on the 4500 block of Cottonwood Road, where they located approximately 25 pounds of methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver of the vehicle, Hugo Jaimes, 34, was arrested and booked on suspicion of the possession and transportation of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, along with several California Vehicle Code violations.
