“On August 8, 2024, at approximately 8:53 PM, the Santa Cruz Police Department (SCPD and multiple law enforcement agencies responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor, located at 135 5th Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims who had been shot. Both individuals received immediate medical attention from fire personnel and AMR paramedics before being transported to a trauma center, where they are currently in critical condition.

SCPD investigators began an urgent follow-up and learned that an altercation had occurred in the parking lot before the shooting. An unknown suspect fired at both victims and fled the scene in a black Dodge Charger. After an extensive investigation, SCPD’s Investigation Bureau identified the suspects.

On September 18, 2024, with assistance from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (Lakewood Station), Moses Dollar was arrested on charges of attempted homicide. He was transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail on September 23, 2024. A female associated with the case, Jakaella Porter, has an outstanding warrant for conspiracy and attempted homicide.

The SCPD would like to thank the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office, the neighboring agencies that responded to the initial scene, and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (Lakewood Station) for their invaluable assistance.”
