“On September 28, 2024, at approximately 2:12 a.m., Palm Springs Police Dispatch began receiving 911 calls reporting a physical altercation involving around 12 individuals in the parking lot of a business in the 5600 block of E Ramon Road. Multiple people were reportedly injured. A witness also reported two suspect vehicles involved in the incident, including a black Infiniti.

Earlier on September 27, at approximately 8:14 p.m., the black Infiniti had been stopped in the 1700 block of E Vista Chino Road. During that stop, one of the passengers, Jayden Butler (18 years old, San Jacinto), was taken into custody for possession of a loaded firearm. Butler was arrested and charged with multiple weapons offenses and was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center, where his bail is set at $10,000.

Officers contacted the victims at the scene on E Ramon Road, two of whom sustained moderate head injuries, with one losing consciousness. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Witnesses reported that the occupants of the black Infiniti and a second suspect vehicle were seen assaulting the victims before taking property from them after they were knocked unconscious.

Six suspects were booked for violations of California Penal Code sections 211 (Robbery), 182 (Conspiracy), and 243(d) (Assault Causing Great Bodily Injury).
