Daly City Police Arrest Man and His Mother in Connection with Fatal Shooting

DALY CITY, CA — The Daly City Police Department has reportedly arrested a man and his mother in connection with a fatal shooting in late September.
According to a press release by the Daly City Police Department, officers responded on the night of Sunday, Sept. 29, to the 1300 block of South Mayfair Avenue following a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 60-year-old male resident suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite receiving medical aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Maarij Abdullah Afridi, reportedly fled the area but was arrested the following day by Daly City Police detectives and the SWAT team.
Investigators reportedly also identified Afridi’s mother, Zaib Un Nisa Afridi, 50, as an alleged accomplice.
Both were booked at the San Mateo County jail.
