Red Bluff Police Arrest Parolee for Arson at Antelope Veterinary Clinic
On October 2, 2024, at approximately 10:21 p.m., officers from the Red Bluff Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Antelope Veterinary Clinic, located at 85 Belle Mill Road. Upon arrival, officers observed 36-year-old Anthony Torres igniting a delivery container on fire.
Officers quickly extinguished the fire and took Torres into custody. Further investigation revealed that Torres is currently on parole with the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation for a previous arson conviction. Torres admitted to setting the fire and was transported to Tehama County Jail.
Torres was booked on multiple felony charges, including arson of property (451(d) PC), arson after a prior arson conviction (451.1(a)(1) PC), and committing arson during a state of emergency (454(a)(2) PC). He was also charged with a parole violation (3056 PC), and his parole agent placed a hold on him.
No animals were harmed during the incident. The Red Bluff Police Department expressed appreciation for the citizen who reported the suspicious activity. The investigation remains active, and no additional information is available at this time.
