Folsom PD Makes Significant Narcotics Arrest After Cross County Investigation
FOLSOM, CA — Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) conducted a series of operations throughout October aimed at addressing the sale of illegal narcotics in Folsom and the surrounding Placer and Sacramento Counties. This initiative culminated in a search warrant execution on the 2900 block of McCloud Way in Roseville, with the assistance of Roseville PD.
During this operation, detectives contacted 38-year-old Bentley Maslanka after stopping his vehicle away from his residence. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 1,000 Alprazolam pills, believed to be counterfeit. Further investigation at Maslanka’s residence resulted in the discovery of an additional 2,000 counterfeit Alprazolam pills, about 3,000 counterfeit Adderall pills, over 1,000 Suboxone strips, a significant quantity of injectable steroids, a .22 caliber rifle, and cash suspected to be derived from narcotics sales. It was noted that Maslanka was previously prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.
Counterfeit pills, such as those recovered in this operation, are often designed to imitate legitimate prescription medications but may contain dangerous substances, including Fentanyl. The Folsom Police Department has reported numerous drug-related overdoses in the past year, leading to homicide charges in four cases linked to drug dealers. FPD asks residents to report any suspected illegal drug activity in their neighborhood via their tip line at 916-930-1098.
