Man Accused of Leading Police on Pursuit in Decommissioned School Bus

A man was recently arrested after allegedly leading Healdsburg police on a pursuit in a decommissioned school bus.

According to a press release by the Healdsburg Police Department, At approximately 2:41 a.m. on October 10, officers responded to a call from a delivery driver concerning alleged behavior from the driver of a white decommissioned school bus in the Vineyard Shopping Center.

When officers initiated a traffic stop on the bus, the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit onto Highway 101. The chase ended when the bus collided with the center median north of Cloverdale, police said.

The driver, identified as Robert King, 45, of Clearlake, was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

King reportedly faces charges of felony vehicular evasion and driving under the influence of a drug. After being medically cleared, he was booked into the Sonoma County jail.
