Camarillo SEU Investigation Leads to Stockpile of Firearms

October 24, 2024 – Ventura County, Ca.

A months-long investigation in the City of Camarillo has led to the arrest of 39-year-old
Camarillo resident Jorden Adams, after detectives uncovered a stockpile of illegal firearms,
explosives, and ammunition at his residence.

The investigation, launched by the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) in August 2024, initially focused on a juvenile in possession of
a firearm. It was later determined that Adams, a convicted felon, had been facilitating the
juvenile’s unlawful access to the weapons.

Adams—who is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms due to his prior
felony convictions—became the focus of the investigation. According to Ventura County
Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sr. Deputy Frank Corona, detectives “obtained sufficient
evidence” to charge both Adams and the juvenile with violating California laws related to
firearms. On October 22, 2024, VCSD’s Camarillo SEU and the Directed Enforcement Unit
arrested the juvenile, who was cited and released to their guardian.

A search warrant was then issued and executed at Adams’ residence which led to the discovery
of “five rifles, four pistols, two shotguns, and high-capacity magazines, along with hundreds of
rounds of ammunition,” according to officials. Many of the firearms were illegal, including unregistered “ghost guns”
and assault weapons with short barrels or threaded barrels. Tools used for illegal firearm
manufacturing were also found, along with “explosives and materials used to make destructive
devices,” as well as metal knuckles.

Adams was arrested transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on multiple
weapons offences, including possession of explosives, manufacturing assault weapons, and being
a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. He remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
