SAN RAFAEL — A phlebotomist with a lengthy rap sheet allegedly stabbed another person
during a fight at Albert Park. Lucas Novick, 28, of San Rafael, remains in custody at Marin
County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
The stabbing occurred on October 31 shortly before 3:30 a.m. The victim was transported to a
hospital and is expected to survive. Novick also allegedly attempted to assault a second
victim who intervened to stop the fighting.
This violent incident occurred near the intersection of Andersen Drive and Lindaro Street. San
Rafael officers detained Novick near the crime scene. The police arrested him at 4:06 a.m.
Novick was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon PC 245(A), and exhibiting a
deadly weapon/not a firearm PC 417(A).
Novick is a convicted felon who has been arrested 20 times since 2014. He was arrested
three times in 2022 for possession of controlled substances. He was also arrested in 2022 for
the sale or transportation of a controlled substance. In addition, Novick has prior arrests in
2022 for addict in possession of a firearm, and possession of a concealed firearm.
His other arrests in 2022 were for involuntary manslaughter, burglary, and drug-related
offenses. He was arrested three times in 2021 for burglary, loitering and interfering with a
business.
Prior to this, he was arrested for burglary in 2019. He was arrested in 2018 for possession of
a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and shoplifting. He was arrested twice in
2015 for DUI alcohol/drugs. His first arrest in 2014 was for a DUI.
