Placerville Man Found Guilty of Attempting to Deter Officer, Resisting Arrest

PLACERVILLE, CA — “On October 31, 2024, after a two-day jury trial presided by Judge Verderosa, Nathan Schneider was found guilty of attempt by means of threats and violence to deter an officer from performing a duty, a felony and resisting a peace officer, a misdemeanor.
On July 18, 2021, El Dorado County Sheriff Deputy Utterback responded to Metate Court in Placerville, for a report of possible trespass and vandalism. While investigating, suspect Nathan Schneider willfully resisted numerous lawful commands by the deputy. Schneider was detained and subsequently arrested for resisting. Upon his release from custody, Schneider called the deputy and threatened to physically assault the deputy if the two encountered each other in the future.
Schneider will be sentenced on December 13, 2024, at 8:30 am in Department 1.”
