Fatal Shooting at Sideshow Event in Prunedale Under Investigation

PRUNDALE, CA  —  “Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one person dead during a sideshow event that occurred at the intersection of Prunedale Road South at Blackie Road in Prunedale.

At about 10:25 PM on Saturday November 9th, 2024, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol began receiving multiple calls from the area of Prunedale Road South and Blackie Road for a report of a person that had been shot during a vehicle sideshow. Upon arrival, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies and CHP Officers located a single victim who had sustained gunshot injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Adrian Puga of Salinas.

This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. We are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding this incident, please contact Detective R. Geng at 831-253-6029 or Detective Sergeant N.
