Paso Robles Police Investigate Sexual Assault Allegations Against Local “Sobador”

On October 31, 2024, the Paso Robles Police Department received a report from an adult woman who alleged she had been sexually assaulted by David Cruz Padilla, 59, of Paso Robles. The incident reportedly took place inside Padilla’s residence on the 400 block of Oak Hill. Following the report, detectives began an investigation into Padilla, who is known locally as a “Sobador,” a practitioner using various techniques for physical relief without formal medical training.

The investigation revealed that Padilla had allegedly been conducting sessions with both minors and adults at his home, an unauthorized setting for such activities. Detectives believe there may be additional individuals who have had similar experiences with Padilla but have not reported them to authorities.

Padilla was arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges related to sexual assault, including sexual penetration with a foreign object by force and invasion of privacy.

The Paso Robles Police Department is actively encouraging any additional victims or witnesses to come forward as part of the ongoing investigation. Those with relevant information can contact the Paso Robles Police Department Detectives Office at 805-237-6464 or Detective Elizabeth Place, who is available for bilingual assistance, at 805-227-7429. The department emphasizes its commitment to providing support to all victims and reminds the community that all reports are confidential and handled with care.
