Santa Rosa Police Arrest Man on Weapons Charges During Traffic Stop

A Sonoma County man was arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm, according to Santa Rosa police.
On Saturday, November 9, at around 9 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for multiple vehicle code equipment violations. During the stop, the driver allegedly admitted to possessing cannabis and methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
The officer then removed both the driver and passenger to conduct a search of the vehicle.
While searching the passenger, the officer discovered a handgun in a waist holster. The passenger reportedly acknowledged that the object was a firearm, identified as a loaded .9mm Glock model 48 that was not registered to him.
The officer also found methamphetamine in the passenger’s possession, police said.
The passenger, identified as Jacob Miller, was arrested on suspicion of the possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in public, unlawful possession of a firearm while not the registered owner, possession of a controlled substance with a loaded firearm, and possession of live ammunition by a prohibited person.
