Fresno Teen Reportedly Arrested for Social Media Threat

FRESNO, CA  —  A Fresno middle schooler was arrested for allegedly making a criminal threat over social media, police said.

According to a press release, Fresno police officers responded to a report of a threat made over social media involving Ahwahnee Middle School.

Investigators reportedly discovered that the thread had been made from an Instagram account allegedly owned by a student at El Capitan Middle School.

On November 18, detectives contacted the student, who reportedly admitted to making the post but said it was just a prank.

The student was arrested for allegedly making a criminal threat and booked at the Juvenile Justice Center, police said.
