Fourth Suspect Apprehended in Salinas Attempted Murder Case

”UPDATE: THE FOURTH SUSPECT IS NOW IN CUSTODY! Thank you for everyone’s help.

On 10/26/2024, at approximately 1am Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 600 block of Towt St. When Officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his right lower leg and a graze wound to his back.

The investigation revealed the victim had been standing near 644 Towt St. when he observed 4-6 male subjects tagging the wall at 646 Towt Steet. The victim confronted the suspects and the group moved towards the intersection of Del Monte Avenue and Towt St. when multiple rounds were fired at the victim. The victim was later transported to the hospital where he received treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives were able to obtain video surveillance of the incident and through the course of the investigation were able to identify the four suspects involved.

On Tuesday, 11/12/24 Salinas Police SWAT, VSTF and Detectives served multiple search warrants in the City of Salinas. Three juvenile males 15 years of age were arrested and later lodged in Juvenile Hall for the attempted murder and gang enhancements.

The fourth suspect, Angel Gayossa (18) is still outstanding and there is a warrant for his arrest. Anyone with information on the whereabout of Angel Gayossa is encouraged to contact the Salinas Police Department.”
