Campbell Man Arrested for Alleged Hit-and-Run, Driving Under the Influence

Police in Campbell have reportedly arrested a man for alleged hit-and-run and driving under the influence.

According to the Campbell Police Department, a Toyota struck a vehicle stopped at a red light near Winchester and Camden on the night of Wednesday, Nov. 27. The driver of the Toyota then fled the scene.

Officers reportedly located the suspect at a nearby Safeway. Police identified the suspect as Valencia Ceballos, 34, of Campbell.

According to police, Campbell initially provided false identification and, once his identity was verified, was found to have two outstanding warrants for driving on a suspended license in Menlo Park, as well as a prior DUI in San Jose.

Officers searched Ceballos’s vehicle and reportedly found several improvised weapons including a machete, large knifes, and a baseball bat. Officers reportedly also found empty C02 cartridges, cannabis, and a Chucky mask.

Ceballos was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury, hit-and-run, providing false identification, operating a vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device, and driving on a suspended license.
