Authorities in Kern County recently arrested a man who allegedly led them on a pursuit on a motorcycle.

According to a press release by the California Highway Patrol, an officer attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle being driven recklessly on Union Avenue in Bakersfield on Friday, Nov. 22.

The driver of the motorcycle allegedly fled, continuing to drive recklessly. The pursuit was ultimately terminated out of concern for public safety, authorities said.

On Dec. 1, detectives located and arrested the suspect, whom they had identified as 28-year-old Jesus Rosario Castro, on the 24500 block of Lerdo Highway.

Castro was booked on suspicion of felony evading. The motorcycle was seized and impounded, authorities said.
