Shasta County Authorities Reportedly Catch Motorist with Over 50 Grams of Cocaine

Authorities in Shasta County reportedly arrested a man after catching him with narcotics and weapons during a traffic stop along I-5 earlier this week.

According to a press release by the Shasta County sheriff’s office, a California Highway Patrol officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 3.

A K-9 officer reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Upon searching, officers discovered over 51 grams of suspected cocaine, an AR-15-style pistol, and a Glock, along with high-capacity magazines and ammunition.

Narcotics investigators responded to the scene to take over the investigation, authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Danny Zambrano, 25, was arrested on suspicion of the possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a non-serialized assault weapon, possession of a loaded firearm while possessing a controlled substance, and possession of high-capacity magazines.

Zambrano was booked into the Shasta County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
