TURLOCK, CA  —  Investigators with the Merced County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a Turlock business owner after allegedly finding stolen property such as copper wire and catalytic converters at their business location.

In a press release, the sheriff’s office reported that, in early December, they had concluded a months-long investigation into large-scale wire thefts throughout Merced and Stanislaus counties.

Detectives reportedly found “large quantities” of stripped copper wire, over 60 catalytic converters that had been cut from vehicles, and a wire stripping machine at a business in Turlock.

The owner of the business was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property and booked at the Stanislaus County jail.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
