Madera County Man Convicted of Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

A Madera County man has been found guilty of kidnapping and sexual assault.

According to a press release by the Madera Police Department, Otis McKinzy was convicted of the crimes on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Madera County Superior Court.

Back in March, McKinzy, a registered sex offender who had relocated to Madera two weeks prior, kidnapped and sexually assaulted a resident of Madera. The victim was ultimately able to escape, police said.

Authorities quickly located and arrested McKinzy in Elk Grove, around five hours after the victim escaped.

McKinzy’s sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025. He faces 150 years in state prison, police said.
