Fields Landing Woman Arrested for Alleged Vehicle Theft

FIELDS LANDING, Calif. — Humboldt County authorities have reportedly arrested a Fields Landing woman for alleged vehicle theft.

According to a press release by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on the night of Friday, Dec. 20, to a report of a disturbance on the 6800 block of Harrison Ave. in Fields Landing.

The disturbance was reportedly described as “screaming and honking from a vehicle.” Deputies learned that an individual, later identified as 39-year-old Sara Maltzman, had allegedly stolen a vehicle from the scene.

Around 7:45 p.m., a deputy found Maltzman driving the stolen vehicle on Civic Avenue in Fields Landing. The deputy followed her back to a residence on Harrison Avenue, where Maltzman fled inside, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies entered the home and arrested Maltzman after she ignored commands to come outside.

During a search, deputies allegedly found live ammunition in Maltzman’s pocket, which she is reportedly prohibited from having in her possession due to a restraining order.

Maltzman was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, resisting an officer, and violating a protective order.
