Police: Viral Video Leads to Hollister Woman’s Arrest for Alleged Animal Cruelty

HOLLISTER, Calif. — A Hollister woman has been arrested for alleged animal cruelty in connection with a video that circulated on social media.

According to the Hollister Police Department, local Animal Care and Services received a report from the Watsonville Police Department regarding a video circulating on Facebook that appeared to show an area resident hitting her dog.

On Thursday, Dec. 19, Animal Control investigators reportedly contacted multiple witnesses who were able to identify the woman in the video. Investigators later took custody of the dog and transported it to an area veterinarian for treatment.

On Monday, Dec. 23, investigators arrested Sophia Enfantino, 19, on suspicion of felony animal cruelty.
