Second Victim in Early December Drunk-Driving Crash Has Died, Police Say
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — A 42-year-old man who was severely injured in a drunk-driving collision in early December has died, Clovis police have announced.
In a press release, the Clovis Police Department reported that the victim, Ian Shaw of Clovis, had passed away from injuries sustained in the collision, which occurred in the area of Fowler and Gettysburg on Saturday, Dec. 1.
On that day, a motorist had run a red light while speeding and collided with another car at the intersection. The force of the collision caused both cars to hit three other parked cars in nearby driveways, police said.
The passenger in the car the suspect hit at the intersection, 25-year-old Quinceia McBean of Coarsgold, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Shaw, the driver of that car, was hospitalized in critical condition, and ultimately succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Police have identified the suspect as 19-year-old “FNU” Himanshu of Clovis, “FNU” being an abbreviation for “First Name Unknown.”
Himanshu was arrested at the scene on December 1 on suspicion of driving under the influence and remains in custody, police said.
