Shasta County Man Arrested on Weapons Charges After Police Serve Search Warrant

“On Friday, January 3, 2025, members of the Redding Police Department’s Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) served a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of Magnolia Avenue.
During the service of the search warrant the resident, Eric Devont Lewis, age 55, of Redding was detained. A total of thirteen other subjects were found within the residence or on the property of the residence.
A search of the residence revealed multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
A search of the grounds of the property revealed multiple boxes of ammunition, large capacity magazines, and three firearms buried in close proximity to the residence. Two of the firearms, an AK-47 style rifle, and an SKS style rifle, meet the requirements for classification as assault weapons.
Lewis, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Lewis was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, and possession of assault weapons. Lewis was booked into the Shasta County Jail.”
