California Highway Patrol Arrests Two for Alleged Street Racing on US-101

The California Highway Patrol arrested two motorists for alleged street racing in the early days of the new year.

According to a press release, officers with the Hollister-Gilroy division of the California Highway Patrol responded to multiple reports of vehicles stopping traffic on US-101 late on the night of Saturday, Jan. 4.

Responding officers intercepted the vehicles as they allegedly stopped traffic and accelerating to over 135 miles per hour.

Officers pulled the vehicles over and arrested both drivers. Their vehicles were towed, police said.
