FOLSOM, CA — Detectives with Folsom PD recently arrested Elijah Sanchez, 20, for a December incident at the Palladio 16 theatre in Folsom.
In late December, law enforcement officials formed the community of an incident that took place at the theatre just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 29. Officers responded to the theatre for the report of a robbery that just occurred. The caller reported that a friend had texted to say they had just been robbed at gunpoint.
Officers worked closely with Palladio security as well as theatre employees to ensure the immediate safety of all patrons. The one screening in the theatre was quickly evacuated, and it was determined that the alleged gunman was no longer on the premises. Officers learned the suspect told the victim he had a gun and demanded their car keys. The suspect then ran out of the theatre, stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
The victim’s car was located on the 4000 block of Mascot Avenue in Sacramento after being tracked by law enforcement. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time it was located.
Sanchez was identified as a suspect and was located in El Dorado County. He was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail for robbery and vehicle theft related charges. Sanchez is currently being held without bail. Sanchez is no stranger to law enforcement, he’s been arrested previously for public intoxication, theft of access card, prowling and three times for attempted robbery.
