Police: Man with Warrants Arrested After Hiding on Apartment Complex Rooftop

HOLLISTER, CA — A man wanted on warrants was arrested after allegedly evading police and hiding on an apartment rooftop in Hollister.
According to a press release by the Hollister Police Department, around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, a patrol officer tried to pull over a man on a bike who was allegedly in violation of vehicle codes, but the man fled, hiding somewhere in the apartment complex at Miller Road and Fourth Street.
Additional officers, along with sheriff’s deputies, arrived to set up a perimeter and soon noticed the man on the roof of one of the apartment complex buildings. Authorities deployed drones to monitor the man’s whereabouts.
Police eventually located the man, whom they identified as 31-year-old Luis Felipe Abonce-Ramirez, in a maintenance section of the building.
Abonce-Ramirez was allegedly found to have narcotics and paraphernalia on him. He was arrested and booked on narcotics charges, local warrants, and resisting arrest, police said.
