SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — Authorities arrested an individual for the alleged possession of a firearm and narcotics in violation of his post-release community supervision status.
In a press release, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies had made contact with two individuals sitting in a car at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, to the Win River Casino parking lot.
Deputies learned that one of the occupants, 66-year-old Edward Leroy Gravelle, was on post-release community supervision due to a prior firearm conviction. Both Gravelle and the other occupant, identified as 38-year-old Megan Marie Slack, were detained while deputies searched the vehicle.
This search led to the discovery of over 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine along with ammunition and “items indicative of narcotic sales,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Gravelle was ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, violation of PRCS terms, and a Proposition 36 charge related to the alleged possession of narcotics with prior narcotics convictions.
Slack was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and delaying or resisting deputies during an investigation.
