Colton Police Arrest Two Students Following Firearm Investigation Near High School

COLTON, CA — “The Colton Police Department has become aware of information circulating in the community about a recent arrest involving two Colton High School students.
On January 15, 2025, at approximately 1:26 PM, Colton Police Department’s School Resource Officers received a report from Colton High School officials indicating that a student may have been concealing a handgun on campus.
Officers thoroughly searched the campus but did not locate the student. Officers continued the search off campus and located two juveniles at a local business across the street from the high school.
During their contact with the juveniles, a firearm was discovered. A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested and booked into juvenile hall, while a second 17-year-old juvenile was also arrested and released to parents.
The arrests made in this investigation resulted from the campus community notifying authorities of suspicious activity and a strong collaboration between the Colton Police Department and the Colton Unified School District.
