Man Arrested in Connection with Shooting in Madera

MADERA, Calif. — Madera police have reportedly arrested a man in connection with a shooting earlier this week.

In a press release, the Madera Police Department reported that they had responded to the 200 block of Solano St. late on the night of Monday, Jan. 27, to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

At the scene, officers located a 60-year-old woman inside a residence with a single gunshot wound to her upper torso. She was later taken to an area medical center for treatment, police said.

Investigators learned that the suspect, identified in the press release as a 61-year-old male, had discharged a firearm, which struck the victim inside the residence.

This individual was placed under arrest and booked at the Madera County jail, police said.
