MARIN CITY, CA — A suspect with a drug trafficking history was arrested for allegedly offering
to sell drugs to an undercover detective. Nathan J. Picco, 44, of San Francisco, was booked
at Marin County Jail.
Detectives with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office suspected Picco of transporting
methamphetamine and fentanyl to Marin County. A sting operation was setup by phone to
meet Picco on January 24. A prepared statement from the sheriff’s office said, “During the
conversation Picco offered to sell a detective a half pound of methamphetamine and an
ounce of fentanyl.”
Picco allegedly promised to deliver the meth first, and fentanyl later the same day.
Detectives traveled to Marin City to place him under arrest. Detectives searched Picco and
recovered more than a half pound of suspected methamphetamine.
The search also turned up a small amount of heroin believed for Picco’s own personal use. In
addition, Picco was found in possession of a collapsible baton. Picco was booked on
suspicion of transportation and possession with intent to sell controlled substances. He was
also booked for possession of a Billy club. He was held in lieu of $30,000 bond, and he is no
longer listed in Marin County’s inmate roster.
Picco has nine prior arrests on his record since 2014 involving possession or sales of illicit
drugs. In addition, he has multiple prior arrests for burglaries and other offenses. Moreover,
Picco was on probation for a recent burglary conviction at the time of his most recent arrest.
