LIVERMORE, CA — More than five ounces of methamphetamine were recovered from Jose DeJesus Maciel-Rodriquez, 51, of Oakland, during a traffic stop.
Maciel-Rodriquez was apprehended on Fallon Road by Livermore
police who pulled him over for a rear lighting equipment violation. Turns out Maciel-Rodriquez was
driving with an expired license.
“While talking with him, we observed loose methamphetamine in plain view on the center console,” Livermore police said in a prepared statement.
Officers proceeded to search the vehicle and found more than five ounces of methamphetamine. The search also uncovered a
meth pipe, packaging materials, and more than $1,400 in cash, according to officials.
Maciel-Rodriquez was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting/selling a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ten felony charges have been subsequently filed against Maciel-Rodriquez. His charges pertain to
the transportation and sale of a large quantity of a controlled substance.
Maciel-Rodriquez is no stranger to law enforcement. He has a prior conviction and multiple
prior arrests on his record. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in 2024,
2022, and 2019. Maciel-Rodriquez was booked at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail shortly before 1:00AM
on January 27. However, he is no longer in custody.
