SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. — An individual was taken into custody on narcotics- and weapon-related charges after allegedly brandishing a gun at a bar in Cotati earlier this week.
According to a press release by the Cotati Police Department, officers responded just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, to Spankey’s Bar after receiving a report of a person with a gun. This person was described as intoxicated and accused of brandishing a silver handgun from their waistband multiple times.
Upon arrival, officers located an individual matching the description inside the bar and detained them without incident. A search revealed a loaded and stolen handgun in his waistband, an open knife in his pocket, and cocaine in his possession, police said.
The subject was reportedly arrested on multiple firearm possession charges, as well as for the alleged possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of cocaine, possession of a dirk or dagger, violation of probation, and being a felon in possession of ammunition.
