Suspect Arrested Following Shooting at Townhouse Motel in West Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA — Officers with the West Sacramento Police Department responded to a shooting incident at the Townhouse Motel on Wednesday evening. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. Authorities identified a suspect and, with the assistance of the Special Investigations Unit, arrested the individual the following afternoon in the 1100 block of West Capitol Avenue. Police believe this to be an isolated incident and have stated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
The West Sacramento Police Department commended the efforts of responding officers, detectives, and investigators for their swift action in identifying and apprehending the suspect.
