Adelanto Man Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Bus Altercation

ADELANTO, CA  —  “On Sunday, January 26, 2025, Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) employees reported two passengers fighting on a bus near the intersection of US Highway 395 and Palmdale Road, in Adelanto. Deputies Geoffrey Solorio and Trevor James from the Sheriff’s Victor Valley Transit Detail responded to the scene. Through their investigation, they identified the suspect as 27-year-old Randy Serpa, who was subsequently arrested. The victim suffered several stab wounds on his head and torso and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Serpa was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

This was an isolated incident which occurred on board a VVTA bus, no other bus passengers or VVTA employees were involved or injured during this incident.
